AC Repair

Green Bay & NE Wisconsin • Straight answers on refrigerant

Air conditioners do not consume refrigerant. If yours is low, it is leaking — and topping it off without finding the leak is selling you the same problem again next summer. We find it, show you where it is, and let you decide what to do about it.

Common Failures

What We Actually Check

About The Refrigerant Change

The industry is transitioning off R-410A to lower-global-warming refrigerants, and R-22 systems have been unsupported for years. If your system is on an older refrigerant, that affects what a repair costs and whether it makes sense. We will tell you plainly which side of that line your equipment sits on, because it genuinely changes the math — not to scare you into a new system.

We Will Not Just Top It Off

Adding refrigerant to a leaking system is a temporary fix sold at a permanent price. We will do it if you ask and you understand the tradeoff, but we will tell you what it is first.

Service Area

We cover Green Bay, De Pere, Ashwaubenon, Howard, Suamico, Bellevue and Allouez, plus Brown County and eight surrounding counties across Northeast Wisconsin. See the full service area →

Why It Matters

Running an AC low on charge or short on airflow overheats the compressor — the single most expensive component in the system. A lot of "the AC died" calls started as a cheap airflow or capacitor problem that got run for another two months. Early diagnosis is what keeps a small repair small.

Frequently Asked Questions

My AC is low on refrigerant. Can you just add some?

We can, and sometimes that is the right call on an older unit you are planning to replace anyway. But we will find the leak first and tell you what you are buying, so it is your decision and not a surprise next June.

Is it worth repairing an older AC?

Depends on the refrigerant it uses, the cost of the failed part, and the condition of the compressor and coil. We will give you the number for the repair and the number for replacement, and you choose.

Why is my AC freezing up?

Almost always restricted airflow (dirty filter, blocked return, failing blower) or low charge. Turn it off, let it thaw completely, then get it looked at — running a frozen system risks the compressor.
