Time for a new fireplace? We handle the whole project: tear out the old unit, frame and update the hearth, install your new gas, wood, or electric fireplace, and coordinate the licensed gas-fitter work if you’re running a new line or converting fuel types. One quote, one timeline, one company.
Why People Replace
- Old unit keeps failing. Constant ignition issues, blower dying again, draft problems — sometimes a 20-year-old unit costs more to keep alive than to replace.
- Energy efficiency upgrade. Modern direct-vent gas units run 70-90% efficient. Old open-hearth wood fireplaces lose more heat than they make.
- Fuel-type switch. Wood-to-gas conversions are the most common — push a button instead of hauling firewood.
- Hearth & surround refresh. Sometimes the unit is fine but the brass surround and 90s tile is killing the room. We rebuild around a new (or existing) unit.
What We Handle
- Removal & disposal of the existing fireplace and surround
- Framing & fire-rated enclosure per code
- Hearth construction — stone, brick, tile, or raised platform
- Surround & mantel install — stone veneer, tile, shiplap, custom wood
- New unit install — gas (vented, ventless, direct-vent), wood-burning, electric, or pellet
- Venting — B-vent, direct-vent through wall, chimney liner work
- Permit pulling — we handle the municipal permit (Green Bay, De Pere, Allouez, etc.) as part of the project
- Final hookup, test, & walk-through
How the Gas-Line Coordination Works
If your project needs new gas-line work, we partner with a licensed Wisconsin gas fitter to run and connect it. You still get one quote and one company managing the project — the gas-fitter scope is itemized so you see exactly what's covered. We handle scheduling, inspections, and final integration; you don’t coordinate two contractors.
Brands We Install
Heat & Glo, Napoleon, Heatilator, Mendota, Regency, Vermont Castings, and most other major brands. Don’t have a unit picked yet? We’ll spec one to fit your room, budget, and fuel preference.
Typical Timeline
- Insert swap (existing surround): 1-2 days
- Full hearth & surround rebuild: 3-7 days
- Wood-to-gas conversion: add 1-2 days for gas-line work
Service Area
Fireplace replacement throughout Green Bay, De Pere, Ashwaubenon, Howard, Suamico, Bellevue, Allouez, and surrounding NE Wisconsin communities.
Fireplace Replacement FAQ
How much does a fireplace replacement cost?
Wide range depending on the unit, surround scope, and whether new gas-line work is needed. We come out, scope it free, and give you a written fixed-price quote up front. Call (920) 304-9377.
Can I switch from wood to gas?
Yes — wood-to-gas conversions are common. We handle the framing, hearth, surround, and unit install; our gas-fitter partner handles the gas line. One contract, one timeline.
Do you handle the gas line yourself?
No — gas-line work in Wisconsin requires a licensed gas fitter. We coordinate that portion with a partner and itemize it in your quote so nothing is hidden.
Do I need a permit?
Usually yes, especially for new gas lines or structural framing changes. We pull and manage the permit as part of the project.
How long will the project take?
Insert swap: 1-2 days. Full hearth-and-surround rebuild: 3-7 days. Wood-to-gas conversion: add 1-2 days.
Can I supply my own fireplace unit?
Yes — if you’ve already bought one, we’ll install it. We just need the manufacturer’s install spec so we frame and vent it correctly.
